Double vision

Just managed to get the control software to update two tiles at once. The RF/serial side of the software is coming together now. There's still no error checking at the moment though. So I'm not sure how the tiles would cope with interference. I bet they wouldn't like it to much though. Sorry for the blurry image. I'll take a better one tomorrow and add a video of the two tiles animating.

Custom matrix

Self-made 8*8 matrix from standard red LED's. Soldering this was easier than I expected but I don't mind if someone points us the place to by them. All the ready-made matrixes has the plastic housing which really takes the thing out of these red beauties. One step closer to the real boxed prototype anyway.

Respect

Time to pay some respects for the designs of glorious 70's and 80's electronic game design. Browse the "Electronic Plastic" -bible online here. The handhelden.com site itself is an impressive collection of these objects of desire.

Visuals

Some modeling for the prototype. Here we used square LEDs,
the original round red one probably our favorite though.
